Jonathan is a highly respected and experienced interventionist, having successfully facilitated over 1,000 interventions. His professional approach, strong case management skills, and genuine passion for his work are evident in his exceptionally high success rate. He instills confidence in families and friends struggling with a loved one, assuring them that help is indeed possible.
He possesses a versatile ability to work effectively with individuals of all ages and genders. His professional background includes experience in residential and intensive outpatient programs, where he has treated adults, young adults, and adolescents.
Jonathan holds a B.A. in Psychology and a Masters in Social Service from Fordham University. He is a Licensed Social Worker and a Certified Intervention Professional. He is actively involved with the Association of Intervention Specialists (AIS), currently serving as its treasurer, and is also a member of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW).

Since joining the CDI team in 2017, Genna Gottschalk has become an integral part of the organization, serving as an interventionist, case manager, recovery coach, and companion. Her professionalism, clinical insight, and unwavering commitment to CDI’s mission have played a meaningful role in the organization’s continued leadership within the behavioral health and intervention field.
Genna is known for her highly individualized approach to client care, recognizing that each person and family presents a unique set of circumstances requiring a thoughtful, tailored strategy. She engages clients with compassion, dignity, and respect, while providing consistent guidance and support to both individuals and their families throughout every stage of the recovery process.
With extensive experience working across adolescent, young adult, and adult populations, Genna brings a depth of expertise to her work with clients facing a wide spectrum of substance use, mental health, and co-occurring challenges. Her comprehensive understanding of complex behavioral health issues allows her to effectively support clients navigating diverse diagnoses, maladaptive behaviors, and the often nuanced path toward sustainable recovery.
Genna’s diligence, empathy, and clinical professionalism are evident in every aspect of her work. She is deeply committed to delivering personalized, high-quality care that empowers clients and families to achieve meaningful, lasting change.
Genna acquired her MSW from the Columbia University School of Social Work, and undergraduate degree from Hunter Silberman School of Social Wor. She is a PACE Certified Intervention Professional (CIP), a Certified Addiction Recovery Coach, and an active board member of the Association of Intervention Specialists (AIS).

With over a decade of experience in the field, Neil possesses a comprehensive understanding of the recovery process.
Neil previously served as the Program Director of Release Recovery, where he was instrumental in the establishment, oversight, and expansion of their New York City Men’s division. Prior to this, he provided patient support as a Clinical Aid at Ashley Addiction Treatment, a distinguished legacy addiction treatment program. Neil's diverse professional background includes roles such as House Manager, Intake Specialist, Client Services Manager, and Business Development & Outreach Coordinator, with a consistent focus on working with young adults.
Neil's personal experience with substance abuse also informs his approach to recovery. Having commenced his recovery journey at the age of nineteen, he has cultivated the ability to connect effectively with young adults seeking substance abuse and mental health treatment.
Neil has had the privilege of collaborating with and learning from prominent mental healthcare professionals, including therapists, interventionists, psychiatrists, and business owners. This exposure has enhanced his clinical skill set and enabled him to employ a wide array of approaches to address the multifaceted needs of each individual client and family.
He graduated magna cum laude from New York University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Sciences and has received specialized training in Motivational Interviewing ,both CRAFT, and ARISE intervention models under the direct supervision of LCSW’s, CIP’s, and MD’s.
Within the substance abuse and mental health field, Neil is widely recognized for his steadfast commitment to ethical conduct and unwavering integrity.

Brian Patrick Murphy is an experienced behavioral health professional specializing in intervention, case management, and recovery coaching. With over a decade of experience, Brian has guided individuals and families through mental health and substance use challenges, including alcohol dependence, opioid use disorder, bipolar disorder, and schizophrenia, using a client-centered approach.
He began as a Recovery Coach, expanding into interventions and case management in 2021 under clinical supervision. Brian founded the "12 Rounds" program, an innovative blend of boxing, meditation, and visualization, drawing from his background as a competitive boxer and trainer. This program helps individuals build resilience and overcome mental blocks, offering an alternative to traditional therapy.
Brian utilizes therapeutic methods such as CBT, DBT, Mindfulness Practices, and Medicated Assisted Treatment (MAT), alongside encouraging 12-Step meetings and physical exercise.
Currently pursuing an MSW from Fordham University, Brian is a Certified Recovery Coach (CCAR), holds Mental Health First Aid and MAT certifications, and has specialized training in Trauma-Informed Care and Executive Functioning Coaching. Brian's extensive expertise and unwavering dedication are invaluable to individuals and families navigating the complexities of addiction and mental health recovery.

Greg Fullam is a behavioral health professional focused on interventions, recovery coaching, and client-centered care. Since 2019, Greg has worked throughout the behavioral health field supporting individuals facing substance use disorders and mental health conditions, while working closely with families during the treatment and recovery process.
His background in operations, admissions, companion support, case management, and recovery coaching has provided him with a comprehensive understanding of the treatment continuum from initial outreach through long-term recovery planning. Greg has completed multiple intervention-focused trainings and approaches his work with an emphasis on communication and compassionate accountability.
Drawing from both professional experience and personal recovery, Greg brings authenticity, empathy, and practical insight to his work. He utilizes strengths-based and recovery-oriented approaches to help individuals and families build sustainable change.
Greg is currently pursuing his Master of Social Work at Rutgers University, continuing to expand his clinical knowledge and professional experience in the behavioral health field.

As a Certified ARISE Interventionist (CAI), and Certified Addiction Recovery Coach (CARC), Charles has received advanced training in Motivational Interviewing, Recovery Coaching, and family systems work. He is certified in Adult CPR/AED by the Red Cross and has completed immersive therapeutic training through ONSITE’s Living Centered and Experiential Therapy programs.
A native New Yorker, Charles graduated from The Browning School and earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies from Naropa University, with concentrations in Psychology, Peace Studies, and Religious Studies. His grounding in Buddhism and meditation began in Colorado in 2007 and deepened during his years living in India. These experiences, alongside twelve-step recovery, continue to shape his holistic approach to healing and transformation.
Charles’ insight into the recovery process is both professional and personal - rooted in his own lived experience. He understands that recovery is not always a linear path, and personal transformation is possible at any stage of life. Sterling Vanry is a dedicated behavioral health professional with many years of experience supporting individuals through personal growth and emotional healing. Born and raised in New York City, Sterling brings a unique blend of warmth, insight, and a grounded perspective to his work. He is currently pursuing a degree in the field of Social sciences.
His professional journey began in direct care roles within residential and outpatient treatment settings, where he quickly developed a reputation for building authentic, trust-based relationships with clients. Sterling has completed specialized training in trauma recovery, behavioral modification, and intervention strategies, continually expanding his ability to meet people where they are and guide them forward.
Sterling, throughout his career, Sterling has worked with adolescents, young adults, and adults in a range of therapeutic and supportive roles. His experience spans various organizations as well his own private practice. His expertise encompasses Sober Living Care and Management as well as Executive Functioning, Mental Health and Sobriety Coaching. Sterling additionally provides 24/7 Companionship, Interventions, and Transports. He possesses significant experience working with addiction and high mental health acuity.Sterling leads with empathy, listens without judgment, and finds joy in celebrating the growth and achievements of those he’s worked with, helping individuals process past experiences, strengthen emotional resilience, and build healthier, more fulfilling lives.
